My Rewards Account

Based on a June 29, 2018 legal decision, changes to Medicaid under Kentucky HEALTH did not begin on July 1, 2018 as planned. Please click here for more resources and information about how this impacts Medicaid in Kentucky.

Description: The My Rewards Account (MRA) provides incentives for beneficiaries to improve their health while actively participating in the community. A MRA is an account for most adults eligible for Kentucky HEALTH.  The MRA works like a Health Spending Account. Beneficiaries earn dollars into their MRA by completing qualifying activities. Half of any unused Deductible Account funds may go into a beneficiary's My Rewards Account at the end of the year.

Timing: People who are on Medicaid now and are eligible for Kentucky HEALTH may earn My Rewards dollars before Kentucky HEALTH begins.

  • January 1, 2018: Beneficiaries may automatically earn dollars by getting preventive health services. This includes things like getting a physical check-up, comprehensive preventive dental exam, or comprehensive vision exam. Beneficiaries may also earn dollars for taking their dependent child in for any of these services.
  • April 1, 2018: Beneficiaries may begin to earn dollars by completing online My Rewards education and training activities at CitizenConnect.ky.gov.
  • July 1, 2018: Kentucky HEALTH benefits begin. Beneficiaries earn dollars for all qualifying activities, and may use the dollars in their My Rewards Account to pay for non-medical dental and vision services.
